Shamianas (Shamiyanas) for Weddings and Functions
Our shamianas are made of two layers of cloth: a waterproof or non-waterproof cotton top and a decorative inner lining. They come in five sizes from 20 x 20 ft to 40 x 40 ft, with kanats (side walls) on all four sides, a matching frill and every accessory needed to put them up.
What goes into our shamianas
The upper layer is cotton cloth, waterproof or not, as you prefer. The inner layer is decorative, in one of three styles:
- Multicoloured flowers stitched from cut pieces
- Printed cloth with multicoloured flowers
- Printed buff sheeting cloth
All four sides are closed by walls 6 ft or 7 ft high, with doorways. The top carries a frill in a matching colour and design. Each shamiana is supplied with wooden pegs, bamboo poles, iron pins and tying ropes.

What is a shamiana?
A shamiana (also spelt shamiyana) is a decorated canopy tent used for outdoor functions such as weddings, pujas, receptions and community events. Ours have a plain outer layer, a decorative inner layer, side walls called kanats and a matching frill at the top.
What sizes do your shamianas come in?
40 x 40, 36 x 36, 30 x 30, 24 x 24 and 20 x 20 ft. The centre height is between 10 and 18 ft, depending on the size.
